I’ve always been fascinated by maps and find it both crazy and wonderful that mapping the world is still a work in progress. I attended an OpenStreetMap NYC workshop this weekend and made my first contribution - South Oxford Park, a park I stumbled upon in my neighborhood just last week. Thanks to @lxbarth and @ian_villeda from MapBox for showing me the ropes (and teaching me about cool stuff like underwater mapping and animal migration paths!).
If you’re interested in mapping the world (think SIM City!), here’s a list of useful links:

- LearnOSM (tutorials)
- Field Papers Printable Atlas (to use in the field to annotate unchartered lands)
- KeepRight (a list of problematic OSM errors to correct, if you need help finding a place to start mapping)
