black and white

I was backpacking post-graduation through Europe when on a whim in Barcelona I decided to try a random exhibit at the Center Cultural Caixa, and it was Sebastião Salgado’s focus on refugees. The power of those black and white images still hit me today - and it was the moment where photography turned from touristic documentation to something that reflects the inner soul of the photographer - and put me on a lifetime journey to appreciate the art better. I haven’t thought about Salgado’s work too much in recent years, but now I wonder why - the man’s an absolute legend.
